The catch? It’s a hefty price.

LG Signature OLED R

LG announced that the first rollable TV in the world will be available for purchase. The TV is a 65-inch LG Signature OLED R and is available in seven select electronics stores in South Korea. The TV costs 100 million won, which comes out to about $ 87,000 USD.

Signature OLED R is mounted on an OLED panel that is flexible. The company has called it “the most innovative development in television technology in decades.” The flexibility means that it can be withdrawn, both halfway and all the way into the case. This means you can customize how much is hidden.

The screen may retract completely and partially

In a statement, LG said: “LG’s exquisite creation frees users from the limitations of the wall so owners can cure their living environment without having to permanently set aside space for a large, black screen that is only useful when turned on.”

Customers can choose which color they would like to cover the wool speaker with a choice of four different colors. The aluminum base also has the option of a personal engraving.

The first rollaway TV

One difficulty that the company has faced, which is no surprise, is the tough market path. LG Display first showed a prototype of the rollaway TV at CES 2018 and later Bloomberg reported that the display would become a shipping product in the following year. While LG brought a rollable T to 2019’s CES, it was actually not sold.
