Venmo launches its own credit card | Gadget theory
The Venmo payment sharing app has now officially released its own credit card, aptly named the Venmo Credit Card. For now, it has been distributed to “selected clients” but will be available to everyone in a few months. If you are over 18, live in the United States, and have an account in good standing (open for at least 30 days), you can apply for the credit card directly on the Venmo app.

Visa credit card offers cash back
Visa credit card can also be easily managed directly on the Venmo app. You can view expenses, track rewards, make payments (including using Venmo balances to pay off credit) and of course also split purchases. Even if your physical card has not yet arrived, you will be able to use a virtual card to make purchases online.
Each Venmo credit card will have a unique QR code, just like regular Venmo accounts, which other users can scan with their phones to request money. For tap-to-pay transactions, the cards will be delivered with an RFID chip. Venmo will also offer 5 different models for the card.
Many credit cards offer cash back rewards based on the categories chosen by the company. For example, Amazon’s credit card offers up to 5% cashback for Whole Foods and Amazon purchases, 2% at gas stations, restaurants, and drugstores, and 1% for everything else. The Venmo Card will provide you with cash rewards based on your personal spending habits.

There are five models to choose from
It does this by categorizing your expenses into different categories such as meals and nightlife, bills and utilities, travel, health and beauty, groceries, transportation, gasoline, and entertainment. Your “best spend” category will earn you 3%, the second will earn you 2%, and everything else will earn 1%. There is no annual fee, but there are other typical fees for things like cash advances, late and returned payments, and interest.
Rewards are automatically transferred to your Venmo account at the end of each statement period. You can then pay your friends, shop online, and of course, transfer money to your bank or debit card associated with your Venmo account.

The Venmo credit card
Venmo previously released the Venmo Debit Card in 2018m, which was a Mastercard issued by Bancorp Bank. Like the credit card, the debit card offered cash back rewards and worked perfectly with the Venmo app.
